Exhibition
New on the app: three original AR drawings by KAWS now available.
The exhibition of large-scale AR artworks will still be available for those who wish to visit it in all 12 locations except for Doha and Melbourne. In New York, the work will be visible outside the Brooklyn Museum, but the museum itself is now closed. Please read on to find out more about the exhibition. *
The EXPANDED HOLIDAY project launched on March 12th 2020, with one of the most ambitious exhibitions ever staged.
A global exhibition of monumental AR sculptures by KAWS opened simultaneously in 12 locations across six continents. The work, COMPANION (EXPANDED), can be viewed, photographed and shared through the Acute Art app.
The exhibition is on display in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East (display temporarily closed), North America, and South America. You can find the exact locations below, along with some stunning photos of the exhibition.
Aside from being the most global art exhibition ever mounted, it is also one of the most planet-friendly. After all, transporting augmented reality art around the world has a far smaller carbon footprint than shipping its physical equivalent, especially when the art is this big!
So if you want to view art in a way that’s never been possible before, why not explore the gallery below, download the app, and experience it for yourself?
* Please note the artwork’s exact location may vary from phone to phone. When you get to the location, open the app and point your camera down. Then look around until you see the sculpture or an ‘artwork nearby’ button. Tap this and follow the arrow.
